Scancana is an unofficial fan-made collector app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed, or approved by Disney or Ravensburger.
This page explains what the iOS app and this website use, and what you can control. We do not require an account, and we do not sell your data.
What stays on your device
Cards you add, photos you take of those cards, and your settings are stored on this iPhone or iPad. Photos are not saved to your system Photos library.
With your permission, the camera looks at the card in front of you so Scancana can identify it. The camera image and recognition process stay on your device.
What you can choose to send
iCloud Sync (Pro). Off by default. If you turn it on, a copy of your collection and card photos is stored in your private iCloud storage so other devices signed in to the same Apple Account can use it. Scancana does not store a copy of this data on our servers. Buying Pro does not turn this on.
Live prices. When you view a card’s price, the app requests the current price for that printing from TCGCSV, a third-party public data service. The request includes the card’s product ID and finish. Scancana does not send your collection, card photos, name, or recognition data with the request.
Price trends and alerts (Pro). Trends and alerts use a service we operate. If you track a card, we store an anonymous installation ID, the card and finish you are tracking, and your alert settings. If you enable notifications, we also store the information needed to deliver a daily alert to this device when the tracked market price changes. We do not link this data to your Apple Account, name, email address, collection, or card photos. You set alert rules in Price Tracking.
Catalog updates. The app may download an updated card list so new sets appear. That list does not include official card art.
Export and share. If you export a CSV or share a progress image, you choose where it goes. We do not receive that file.
Support email. If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include in your message so we can respond.
Apple and other services
Purchases and Restore are handled by Apple. Scancana does not receive your payment information. iCloud Sync uses Apple’s iCloud. Notifications are delivered through Apple’s notification service.
Live price data comes from TCGCSV, a third-party public data service. This website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand website traffic. IP anonymization is enabled. The iOS app does not use analytics or advertising networks and does not show ads.
Your choices and deletion
Camera and notifications are controlled in iOS Settings → Scancana. You can turn off iCloud Sync or alerts in the app, stop tracking a card, or decline notifications. Stopping tracking removes that card from our alert service. Turning alerts off stops notifications, but the tracked list stays until you stop tracking. The app still works if you say no—you just won’t get that optional feature.
To remove data on this device, delete cards in the app or delete the app. Turning off iCloud Sync stops new copies; it does not erase a copy already in your iCloud. You can manage your iCloud data through Apple’s iCloud settings.
To ask us to delete alert data for this installation, contact us through Settings → Contact so your message includes the install ID, or email us at support@louisbuilds.me.
We keep on-device data until you remove it. We keep price-tracking data on our service while you are tracking cards. Stopping tracking removes that card from our alert service. Turning alerts off stops notifications but does not remove the tracked card. If you delete the app without stopping tracking first, alert records may remain on our service. These records are not linked to your email or Apple Account. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to respond.
Children
Scancana is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
