Frequently Asked Questions

Open the app and tap Upgrade to Plus (from Profile or the paywall). Choose Monthly, Yearly, or Lifetime. Prices and free-trial availability may vary by region. Follow the on-screen steps to complete your purchase in the App Store.

You can restore in any of these places:

  • Upgrade to Plus paywall → scroll down → Restore
  • Profile tab → gear icon (System Settings) → Restore
  • Points Store → Partner item details (e.g. Plumeo) when applicable

The app verifies your App Store purchase and restores Plus features and eligible one-time unlocks.

Free: Pomodoro and count-up timer, Relaxed focus mode, basic session stats, home screen widgets, Live Activity, and fully offline privacy—no ads.

Plus (optional): Challenged and Whitelist focus modes, custom task types, advanced statistics, data export, exclusive app icons, Energy Point icon styles, and selected Plus-only ambient sounds.

Some companions, themes, and music unlock over time through Energy Points or optional in-app purchases—they are not all included on day one.

PurrrrrFocus runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 15.0 or later.

Whitelist focus mode uses Apple Screen Time and requires iOS 16.0 or later plus an active Plus subscription.

No. Your focus history, stats, and notes are stored locally on your device. The app does not require an account and does not sync your sessions to our servers. Data is only removed if you delete the app or use Reset Data in System Settings.

Open ProfileFocus Mode (under Personalization):

  • Relaxed (free): Switch apps freely during a session with no Energy Point penalty.
  • Challenged (Plus): Switching apps reduces the Energy Points you earn this session (short / medium / long switches: 5 / 10 / 20 points).
  • Whitelist (Plus, iOS 16+): Only apps you allow stay available; others are blocked via Screen Time while you focus.
  1. Subscribe to Plus and update to iOS 16.0 or later.
  2. Go to ProfileFocus ModeWhitelist.
  3. Grant Screen Time permission when prompted and choose allowed apps.
  4. Start a focus session—non-whitelisted apps will show the focus shield if you try to open them.

Whitelist relies on Apple's Screen Time APIs; availability may vary by device settings and iOS version.

Plus users: open the Statistics tab → tap the export icon (top-left) → choose CSV or Excel.

Plus users: open Task Settings before a session → create custom task types (up to 20).

Go to Profile → under Personalization, tap Theme. Choose a scene such as Classical Courtyard, Celadon Glow, Lake Moon, Purple Mist, Peach Rain, or Apricot Sunset. Some themes unlock with Energy Points or purchases in the Points Store.

Earn Energy Points by completing focus sessions. Open the Points Store from the Focus tab (when idle) to redeem points for cats, themes, and music. Two cats are free from the start; other cats unlock with points. Plumeo (crane partner) is a separate one-time purchase under Partner in the Points Store. Selected items may also offer optional direct in-app purchase.

Widgets: On the Home Screen, touch and hold → EditAdd Widget → search PurrrrrFocus → pick Today, week summary, or trend widgets.

Live Activity: During an active focus session, the timer can appear on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island (supported devices). To check permissions: Profile → gear (System Settings) → Live Activity (opens iOS Settings), or Settings → Apps → PurrrrrFocus → Live Activities. Requires iOS 16.1+ for Live Activity.
