Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Phonetic Formatter, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Usage Rules
You agree to the following conditions:
- The app is for personal, educational, and general productivity use.
- You are solely responsible for the content you input or scan.
- All processing is performed locally on your device.
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction).
Service Tiers
Free Tier:
- Up to 400 words per conversion
- 1 conversion generation per day (includes manual input and OCR)
- Sentence view only
Pro Tier (Monthly Subscription or Lifetime Purchase):
- Word-by-word transcription view
- Document scanning and text extraction (OCR)
- Up to 6,000 words per text
- Unlimited generation usage
- Full export access (TXT, DOCX, and PDF)
Purchase and Subscription Terms
Pro features are offered as an auto-renewing monthly subscription or as a one-time lifetime purchase handled securely via Apple StoreKit.
Subscriptions: Monthly subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period via your Apple ID settings. Access continues until the paid period ends after cancellation.
Lifetime Purchase: Lifetime purchasers receive ongoing access to purchased features without recurring charges.
Upgrades & Restores: Monthly subscribers may upgrade to the lifetime plan, with billing adjustments handled by Apple. Purchases can be restored on multiple devices using the same Apple ID.
Refunds and Revocations: All refunds are handled exclusively by Apple. Upon the issuance of a refund or revocation of a transaction by Apple or the user, all Pro features and entitlements will be immediately terminated, deactivated, and cleared from the local device.
We reserve the right to adjust features or pricing with notice; existing purchasers/subscribers keep access to purchased features for their active entitlement period.
Disclaimer
This app uses the CMU Pronouncing Dictionary for phonetic transcription. Transcriptions may not always be accurate for every context or dialect. The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in the transcriptions.
Service Availability
We reserve the right to update, modify, restrict usage parameters, or discontinue the app at any time. We are not obligated to provide ongoing support, maintenance, or updates.
Copyright / Licensing
This app and its proprietary code are protected by copyright laws. The CMU Pronouncing Dictionary is utilized under its own specific license terms: https://www.speech.cs.cmu.edu/cgi-bin/cmudict
You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, decompile, or remove any copyright notices without prior written permission.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to data loss, transcription errors, service interruptions, or damages arising from reliance on the app's output.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms at any time. Material changes may be communicated within the app. Your continued use of the app following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
