This Privacy Policy describes how Phonetic Formatter handles your data when you use the app. By using this app, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Data Storage
This app stores all data locally on your device. We do not upload, sync, or transmit any of your data to external servers or cloud services.
Local Data
The following data may be stored locally on your device:
- Input text and phonetic output (last workspace content)
- Workspace state (last input, output, view position)
- User preferences (appearance, theme, display format, IPA symbols)
- In-app purchase and entitlement status (Pro activation)
- Daily generation count (for Free tier volume tracking)
- All data is stored locally using standard iOS mechanisms and is accessible only on your device. You can clear all data at any time using "Clear All Settings" in the app settings.
No Cloud Upload & Local OCR
We do not upload your content to cloud services. Phonetic transcription uses the bundled CMU Pronouncing Dictionary directly on your device. Document scanning and text extraction (OCR) features run entirely on-device using Apple's native Vision framework; recognized text stays on your device and is never sent to our or any third-party servers.
Export Function
The app allows you to export phonetic results in various formats (TXT, DOCX, and PDF). Exporting is a user-initiated action handled via the standard iOS share sheet. We do not access, view, or store your exported files or their contents.
In-App Purchases & Subscriptions
Phonetic Formatter Pro features are available via Apple StoreKit as:
- An auto-renewing monthly subscription
- A one-time, non-consumable lifetime purchase
- All payment processing is handled securely and entirely by Apple. We only receive purchase and entitlement status updates, never your payment details. This status is cached locally on your device.
- Monthly subscriptions remain active until the end of the current billing period after cancellation, unless refunded, revoked, or terminated in accordance with Apple's purchase policies. Lifetime access does not expire. Purchases can be restored on other devices using the same Apple ID. All refunds are subject to Apple's App Store terms.
No Tracking / Analytics
This app does not collect, track, or analyze user behavior. There are zero analytics frameworks, tracking cookies, or advertisements integrated into the app.
No Third-Party Services
No third-party analytics, ads, or data collection services are used. Only Apple's official StoreKit API is utilized to manage in-app purchases.
Data Deletion
You can completely delete all locally stored data at any time via:
- "Clear All Settings" within the app settings (removes preferences and workspace data)
- Uninstalling the app from your device (permanently removes all associated data)
